GlobalFoundries

GlobalFoundries Inc. is a multinational semiconductor contract manufacturer domiciled in the Cayman Islands and headquartered in Malta, New York. It was created in March 2009 from the divestiture of AMD's manufacturing operations and was privately owned by Mubadala Investment Company until its October 2021 IPO; Mubadala retains an 82% majority stake. The company produces integrated circuits for markets including smart mobile devices, data centers, automotive, aerospace and defense, and IoT. As of 2023, it is the third-largest semiconductor foundry by revenue and operates wafer fabrication plants in Singapore, Germany, Vermont, and New York. GlobalFoundries holds U.S. 'Trusted Foundry' status.
